Ben Snaith reflects on 400m win in Birmingham and looks ahead to World Junior Championships

Ben Snaith (9) was one of a number of GB World Juniors team members in action at the English Schools Championships in Birmingham at the weekend.

Part of the 4x400m relay squad for Eugene, he made his one-lap victory look easy as he cruised around the final bend and powered over the line in 46.92 to beat Nick Petrou with 47.39 and Joseph Reid with 47.68.

Having claimed English Schools silver and bronze medals in the past, he explained how he was glad to finally get gold around his neck.

"This is my fifth time and I've never quite got gold," he said. "I got a silver last year and bronze the year before that so it's nice to finally get a gold medal after all of those years."
