CHICHESTER 10km, inc BMAF CHAMPIONSHIPS, West Sussex, February 1

Hercules Wimbledon’s Charlie Sanderson won overall in 30:07 as City of Leeds John Beattie was the first M40 home in 30:19.

It was only around two months since the 2025 British Masters 10km Championship had been staged so some runners could have been forgiven for a sense of Championship fatigue.

Nevertheless, many of the usual Masters’ championship contenders toed the line, as Will Green and Mark Symes were M50 and M55 winners.

Further Down David Williams took the M60 prize whilst Rock Musician Peter Giles was again an M80 winner.

The women’s race saw Naomi Taschimowitz take the line first in 32:35 and also add the W35 first prize, nearly a minute clewar of Kate Estlea-Morris.

First W40 home was Lauren Reen a minute further back in 34:46 whilst, further down the field, there was another British best for W55 Karima Harris.

The Highgate Harrier took 16 seconds off her time set last September in Westminster with a new age group mark of 35:54.

Harris said: “I had a great run and I enjoyed running on the motor racing track.”

Further down in that W55 age group the highly experienced pair of Arena 80 runners Julie Briggs and Caroline Hoyte followed in 37:41 and 40:05, despite missing much of the last few years of competitions.
