Adam Hickey, Steph Twell and Nick Goolab are among those set for half-marathons in Reading and Bath this weekend

Some of the UK's leading runners will be in road race action on Sunday, with the Sage Reading Half Marathon and Bath Half Marathon among the events taking place.

Fresh from his victory at the Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships, Adam Hickey is set to return to run on the roads in Reading as he continues to work toward the IAAF World Cross Country Championships at the end of this month.

With his best performance since his English National win 12 months earlier, Hickey clocked 32:44 on an undulating and windswept 10km course in Loughborough and will be looking for a similarly successful outing when he races on the roads for the first time this year.

Hickey's half-marathon PB stands at 64:41 from 2016 and he has only raced over the distance twice so far in his career.

Joining him in Reading will be Andy Vernon, who is preparing to make his marathon debut in London in April, plus former National winner Charlie Hulson, Olympic marathoners Scott Overall and Paul Pollock, Kieran Clements, Paul Martelletti, Dan Studley, Matt Clowes, John Gilbert and Paulos Surafel.

Steph Twell claimed the runner-up spot at The Vitality Big Half last Sunday and after her 71:33 PB performance there the Aldershot, Farnham & District athlete is also among the entries for the women's race in Reading.

Lining up alongside her will be Louise Small, Lucy Reid, Calli Thackery, Anna Boniface, Georgina Schwiening, Rebecca Murray, Lauren Deadman and Annabel Simpson.

Over in Bath, the elite entry list includes Euro Cross team silver medallist Nick Goolab and 2017 winner Ben Fish.

The women's field features 2:32 marathoner Emma Stepto, Olympian Kate Reed, Rachel Felton and triathlon great Chrissie Wellington.
