Brooks is donating 10% of sales on its website over Cyber Weekend to parkrun to help the 5km series at the end of a year which has seen its fixtures wiped out by the coronavirus pandemic.
The shoe company teamed up with parkrun earlier this year with a new three-year partnership deal but there have been no events in the UK since March, so instead Brooks is going to help parkrun by giving it a slice of profits from money made on the November 26-30 Cyber Weekend period via brooksrunning.co.uk.
Nick Pearson, chief executive of parkrun, said: “During this period of uncertainty, the potential donations received through this partnership with Brooks are more important than ever in supporting the return of parkrun events and supporting the long-term sustainability of our free events.”

Matt Dodge, MD of EMEA at Brooks, added: “Running is a limitless source of positive energy, and it continues to give so much back to people. And while the broader running community has shown incredible resiliency in staying connected and active, we’ve been collectively challenged this year to share that positive energy at events like those hosted by parkrun.
“We believe strongly in the timeless importance of the platform they provide, and we are thrilled to partner with them and continue supporting their mission. That’s why we are donating a portion of our direct sales from this year’s Cyber Weekend to help keep parkrun accessible for everyone.”
