Details of BUCS and some early February league action with further results to follow.
Former Harvard student Will Battershill was a clear winner of the men's 10km race in 33:46.
Representing Birmingham University, the 23-year-old 8:32.92 steeplechaser, who was 33rd in the European Cross Country Championships, finished 11 seconds ahead of Solent's Zak Mahamed, who followed up his recent Belfast victory with second place ahead of his fellow European under-23 team-mate Matthew Stonier (34:02), who was representing Loughborough.

The 18-year-old Will Barnicoat finished fourth as Birmingham dominated the team event with 16 points to Loughborough's 47 and St Mary's 52.
Loughborough Students easily gained their revenge in the women's 8km race as they scored 7 points to Birmingham's 30 and Edinburgh's 35.
Their Kirsty Walker was a very easy winner in 29:55 having been fourth in the past edition at Edinburgh two years ago.
Her team-mate Abbie Donnelly, who had finished 12th in the Europeans in December and beaten Walker by 50 seconds in Liverpool, was second in 30:26.
Edinburgh's Megan Keith took a clear bronze.

With Amelia Quirk having gone off course, Birmingham's cause was led in by Saskia Millard in sixth.
St Mary's Meg Gadsby won the women's short-course 6km race where Birmingham did narrowly take the honours from Loughborough with a Birmingham B team third and they did even better in the men's short-course 8km as Ethan O'Shea won the individual race in 27:49 as Birmingham were first and second team.

The belated 50th anniversary of this most famous of school races was marred by controversy as the first team across the line, Abingdon, were disqualified for fielding an over-age runner, James Taylor reports.
Whilst initially cleared to run, once the rulebook was located the ruling was inevitable. And with only minutes to the start, the Oxfordshire school, with no travelling reserves, were unable to rectify their mistake, and took to the line effectively 'under protest'.
Few spectators or athletes knew of all this once the first of six 2.3 mile legs got underway on a multi-terrain course in unusually fast condition.
Stage one proved the going was good, as relay veteran Fraser Sproul (Sedbergh), Rowan Miell-Ingram (Abingdon), Essex Champion Henry Dover (Woodbridge) and former National Cross Champion Alex Thompson (Ermysted's) surged clear for the fastest four splits of the day.
Sproul's 10:52 was the second-fastest ever. Defending champions Judd had a solid first leg but were 40 seconds in arrears, and whilst they moved up to second on the road, the time gap remained fairly constant until the fifth leg, when Abingdon's 'Y14' understandably tightened up in the circumstances, and the lead passed to Judd for a few metres.
No-one was surprised to see Knole Run winner Will D'Arcy retake the lead for Abingdon early on in the final stage, but tannoy announcements had long since called the race for Judd, from surprise package Calday Grange, who surpassed Shrewsbury on the final leg. Judd's 70:44 clocking improved their 'new course' (1991-) record and their B team came fifth of the 44 finishing teams.
The concurrent girls' race contained similar quality (and thankfully less controversy), with three of the fastest four times on record set. Under-20 and under-17 Northern bronze medalists Ellen Mary Kearney (Upton Hall) and Rebecca Flaherty (Bradford GS) were head to head on stage one, the older girl prevailing in a time only beaten on this course by Harriet Knowles-Jones. Team positions switched on leg two, and the Yorkshire school remained out front with a consistent quartet to smash the team course record.
This 50th anniversary event saw a one-off alumni race kick off proceedings. Ermysted's managed to get the most out, and their own Matthew Watson, only recently returned to the sport, defied his 41 years for a remarkable 11:05 clocking. Coventry legend David Moorcroft was on hand to dish out the prizes.
