DARLINGTON 10km, County Durham, August 3
Marc Scott had things much his own way when winning by more than 200m in 29:47.
It was the 2022 world indoor 3000m bronze medallist’s first outing since a couple of top-class efforts in Spain earlier in the year. There, Scott ran a 28:15 10km in Valencia before a 61:00 half marathon in Barcelona in February.
The women’s section saw Heather Townsend win by around 100m in 33:48. It was the Leeds City runner’s fifth win on the roads this year, which included a 33:24 personal best at Dewsbury in February.
Behind South Africa’s 2:24:03 marathoner Gerda Steyn’s 34:10, top W45 Kirsty Longley took third in 35:47.
