Start Fitness Surrey Ladies Cross Country League, Wimbledon, January 13

Sophie Harris (pictured) continued her dominance with a one-minute victory over Kent runner-up Lucy Reid.

Such was the standard that Surrey champion Isabel Brinsden could only finish seventh.

Thames Hare and Hounds were easy team winners.

Andy Maud, running for his second-claim club Clapham Chasers, won from Kent champion John Gilbert as Kent AC won on the day and now trail Hercules Wimbledon by 14 points for the final match next month.

Birmingham & District League, Warley Woods, Smethwick, January 13

Stoke’s Alex Brecker won in a time of 29:44 from Graham Rush’s 29:53.

Loughborough won the team event easily from Cheltenham.

Manchester Area Cross Country League, Woodbank Park, January 13

Andy Norman and Ruth Jones were clear winner of the fourth match.

34th Durham Cathedral Cross Country Relays, Maiden Castle Playing Fields, January 14

Durham University retained their men’s title to win from Morpeth's A team, while Morpeth B were third.

Durham’s Cameron Field ran the fastest leg of 8:48.

North Shields Poly won the women’s race from Morpeth and Durham University.

Reno, USA, January 12

Armand Duplantis of Sweden improved his own world indoor under-20 pole vault record to win with a 5.83m vault.

Olympic and world silver medalist Sandi Morris set a world lead of 4.90m to win the women’s event.

Glasgow, January 13

European 400m hurdles champion Eilidh Doyle won the 400m in 53.00.

Aubiere, France, January 14

World record-holder Renaud Lavillenie cleared a world-leading 5.86m in the pole vault.

Ukrainian Oleksiy Kasyanov won the heptathlon with 6016 points, while Antoinette Nana Djimou won the pentathlon with 4351 points.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson competed in three events – the hurdles where she was timed at 8.50, a 10.91m shot and long jump where she jumped 6.45m.

Loughborough, January 13

In a mixed race, world sprint relay medallist Daryll Neita clocked 7.24 for 60m.

Sophie McKinna won the shot with a 17.30m PB.

South of England Indoor Champs, Lee Valley, January 13

The men’s 60m was won by John Otugade in a world indoor qualifier of 6.60.

Romell Glave won the junior race in 6.66 from Dom Ashwell’s 6.68, moving Glave from 30th to joint third on the UK under-20 all-time list and Ashwell to joint eighth.

The women's 60m was a tie between Diani Walker and Risqat Fabunmi-Alade in 7.35.

Northern Athletics Championships, Sheffield, January 13/14

Adam Hague won the pole vault with a 5.40m leap.

Cardiff Met Open, January 13

World T44 100m champion Sophie Kamlish opened her season with an 8.58 60m, while Steve Morris ran an indoor 1500m PB of 4:00.99.

Tignes, France January 11

Renaud Lavillenie opened his season with a 5.81m vault win at a special pole vault meet in Tignes.

Orleans, France, January 13

Ninon Guillon-Romarin equalled the French women’s pole vault record with a 4.71m leap.

The 2014 world indoor champion Kostas Filippidis won the men’s competition with 5.71m.

Perth, Australia, January 13

World 100m hurdles champion Sally Pearson won her event in 12.73.

Kurtis Marshall won the pole vault with 5.78m, while Jake Hale won the 100m in a windy 10.10.

Nairobi, Kenya , January 12

World 5000m champion Hellen Obiri defeated world half-marathon record-holder Joyciline Jepkosgei to claim her third women’s 10km title at the Kenya Defence Forces Championships, with Obiri’s 33:33 giving her six seconds advantage over Jepkosgei’s 33:39.

Lexington, USA, January 13

Olympic and world champion Omar McLeod won the 60m hurdles in a world-leading 7.53, while world outdoor record-holder Keni Harrison won the women’s event in 7.82.

Houston Half Marathon, Texas, January 14

Jake Robertson (60:01) and Ruti Aga (66:39) won the Houston Half Marathon, while Molly Huddle broke the American record with 67:25. There was incredible depth in the women's race, with seven athletes inside 67:30 and 10 going sub-70 minutes.

GB marathoner Tracy Barlow clocked 74:28 in 22nd, while Irish athlete Stephen Scullion clocked a PB of 63:16 to also place in the top 30.

Bazu Worku and Biruktayit Degefa regained their marathon titles, clocking 2:08:30 and 2:24:51 respectively.

Ooredoo Doha Marathon - half-marathon and 10km, Qatar, January 12

Eilish McColgan clocked a winning 10km PB of 31:50, while Gemma Steel and Chris Thompson claimed half-marathon podium places but Mo Farah withdrew. Read a fuller online report here.
