Ron Pickering Memorial Fund has spots available for 2015 event

The Ron Pickering Memorial Fund (RPMF) has a number of places available for those who might like to 'Run4Ron' at the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon.

The RPMF supports many of Britain's most talented young athletes with financial grants totalling tens of thousands of pounds every year.

Such is its impact, 51 British Olympians at London 2012 were helped during the early part of their career by the Fund and since its inception the RPMF has raised and awarded over £1.5 million in grants to over 2000 aspiring British athletes.

A key source of fundraising for the RPMF is via money raised by 'Ronners' taking part in events such as the Virgin Money London Marathon. In 2014 Ronners raised in excess of £20,000 for the Fund through running the London Marathon alone.

Those interested in running for Ron at the 2015 event on April 26 are asked to apply for a place by filling in the application form available here.

The minimum funds needed to be raised would be £1500, compared to a number of other charities who require around at least £2000-£2500.

See rpmf.org.uk for more on the Ron Pickering Memorial Fund.
