Marie-Josée Ta Lou, Dafne Schippers and Elaine Thompson race 100m, while Holly Bradshaw and Jake Wightman are among the British athletes competing

The road to the IAAF Diamond League finals is hotting up and Monaco hosts the 10th event in this summer's series, with the Herculis EBS meeting taking place over two days (July 19-20), just before this weekend’s London Diamond League.

On Thursday evening the first action will feature shot putters Tom Walsh, Ryan Crouser, Michelle Carter, Lijiao Gong and Valerie Adams.

The events on day two include a top 100m line-up, with world 100m and 200m silver medallist Marie-Josée Ta Lou racing against two-time world 200m champion Dafne Schippers, Olympic 100m and 200m champion Elaine Thompson and world indoor champion Murielle Ahouré.

The men's 200m features seven athletes who have gone sub-20 seconds, including USA's Noah Lyles, who is unbeaten in the IAAF Diamond League over the half-lap event, and world champion Ramil Guliyev.

Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo and world silver medallist Salwa Eid Naser will go head-to-head in the 400m, while Athletics World Cup winner Pascal Martinot-Lagarde, world record-holder Aries Merritt and world silver medallist Sergey Shubenkov, who recently ran 12.92, go in the 110m hurdles.

Pedro Pablo Pichardo and Christian Taylor will again face each other in the triple jump.

British athletes in action include Holly Bradshaw in the pole vault, fresh from clearing 4.80m in Germany, plus Rosie Clarke in the steeplechase and Jake Wightman and Chris O'Hare in the 1500m.
