A selection of shots from the Glasgow 2014 athletics action

In my short career as a journalist (short most definitely in comparison to some of the stalwarts at Athletics Weekly, with Mel Watman, the former editor of AW who first covered the Games in Cardiff in 1958, in Glasgow this week too) I've been lucky enough to have covered my fair share of high-profile events across a range of sports. This is my first Commonwealth Games, though, and I'm loving every second.

I try to take as many pictures as I can on my travels to capture some of my magnificent memories, but I won't subject the readers of AW to my dodgy photography skills. Instead, AW's photographer Mark Shearman - who has covered a dozen Games himself - has shared some of his snaps.

Take a look at some of the action that has been caught on camera in our Glasgow 2014 gallery below and then share with us your experiences of the Games - what has been the stand-out moment for you so far? Tweet us at @AthleticsWeekly, send us a message on Facebook, join the conversation on our forum or simply pop a comment below this post.
