This video of the Irish Universities Athletics Association women's 4x400m relay proves why athletes should never give up

Your team is around 80 metres back in fifth place with just the anchor leg to go in the 4x400m relay. Do you give up? Not if you're UCC's Phil Healy, you don't.

Check out the video below and from around three minutes watch the Irish runner make up a 70-80m deficit and demonstrate a superb sprint finish "from the depths of hell" accompanied by some incredible commentary by a team including AW contributor Cathal Dennehy.

"Hello lactic," tweeted Healy after the race. "Great to run the last leg for @uccathletics 4x4 and end up getting the win... And also a few grazes."
