The 2019 Saucony English National Championships heads to Harewood House Estate near Leeds

After the Christmas break the domestic cross country season clicks into top gear with county and area events followed by the Saucony English National Championships on Saturday February 23 at the Harewood House Estate near Leeds.

This venue staged the North of England Championships last year and it will be the first time that the National has been held there.

The large area means the senior men’s race of 12km can be held over two laps to reduce the amount of lapping that takes place and give the front of the field a clearer run towards the end of the race.

The course has plenty of different types of terrain and should be a good test for those aspiring to run in the World Championships in Denmark five weeks later.

Entry for the National closes on Friday January 11 and can only be made online at race-results.co.uk/results/2019/natxc19e.php

The system allows clubs or individuals to submit entries at £8 per head.

This will the 132nd time the senior men’s race has been held and the 87th time the senior women’s has also taken place, with the Leeds area staging one these races for the seventh time.
