Extra entries for event to be released during a 24-hour period

Following high demand for places, extra entries for next year's Brighton Marathon are to be released during a 24-hour period.

Potential runners must first register their interest in order to receive information on when they can apply for places in the April 12 event.

From Tuesday (October 21), applicants will have ten days to register, after which they will receive an email confirming their registration and will later be sent an email giving them 48-hours notice of when the entry window will re-open.

The number of extra entries has been described by event organisers as "strictly limited" and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

The marathon forms part of the Brighton Marathon weekend which also include a two-day expo opening on Friday April 10, a mini mile event on the Saturday and the Brighton 10km and 26.2 mile event on Sunday.

For further information and to register your interest, see brightonmarathon.co.uk.
