Kiplagat to run Chicago Marathon

Two-time world marathon gold medallist Edna Kiplagat is a recent addition to Sunday's Chicago Marathon field.

Kiplagat will face the likes of reigning champion Florence Kiplagat, Boston Marathon winner Atsede Baysa from Ethiopia and Paris Marathon winner Visiline Jepkesho.

Conseslus Kipruto set to race 10km cross-country

Olympic 3000m steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto will compete over 10km at the Safaricom Ndalat Gaa Cross Country on October 15, informs the Daily Nation.

“I will take a rest after Ndalat Gaa then focus on World Championships next year and perhaps a shot at the world record either in Eugene or Oslo,” said Kipruto.

The women’s 8km is expected to include world cross-country champion Agnes Tirop, who is reportedly due to face Olympic 5000m champion Vivian Cheruiyot.

Khokhlov and Schemereva Moscow Marathon events results annulled

Yevgeniy Khokhlov and Tamara Schemereva both took part in Moscow Marathon events on September 25, two days after they were officially banned for four years due to doping offences, informs sports.ru.

Khokhlov placed tenth in the 10km and Schemereva finished eighth in the marathon. ARAF secretary general Mikhail Butov has said their results have been annulled.

Laura Ikauniece-Admidina switches coach

Beijing world heptathlon bronze medallist and Rio fourth-placer Laura Ikauniece-Admidina has split with her coach Andis Austrups. The Latvian record-holder has started to work with Estonian Andrei Nazarov.

Nazarov is the former coach of Estonian decathlon record-holder Erki Nool and coach of long jumper Ksenija Balta. He also worked with Germany's Pascal Behrenbruch when he won the European decathlon title in 2012.
