It was a busy week and weekend of action in both Britain and abroad on a variety of surfaces.
Kielder Marathon, October 5
The 1989 national under-17 cross-country winner Ceri Rees won his third successive Kielder Marathon title on Sunday.

RWA 50km Championships, Hillingdon, October 5
Spain’s Mikel Odriozola Dominquez won in 3:59:02 and fourth placer Dominic King was the first British finisher in fourth in 4:12:41.
Italian Tatyana Gabellone won the accompanying women’s 10km in 49:39.

ERRA National Road Relay Championships, Sutton Park, October 4
Aldershot, Farnham and District repeated their South of England Autumn Road Relays double as both their men and women took comfortable victories. A fuller online report can be found here.

ERRA National Young Athletes Road Relays, Sutton Park, October 5
Leicester Coritanian and Charnwood were among the winners at the National Young Athletes Road Relays. A fuller online report can be found here.

Bournemouth Marathon and Half Marathon, October 4/5
Around 10,500 runners took part in the second running in the events over the weekend.
Kenyan Andrew Lesuuda won the marathon on his debut in 2:21:41to beat last year’s winner Ebisa Merga of Ethiopia, while Ukranian Kateryna Stetsenko won the women’s race in a swift 2:30:58 from Kenya’s Joan Kigen.
Steve Way was the marathon starter and he finished second in the half-marathon to his training partner.
Men marathon: 1 Andrew Lesuuda 2:21:41; 2 Ebisa Merga 2:25.30; 3 Andrew Clark 2:40:50.
Men HM: 1 Jacek Cieluszecki 69:30; 2 Steve Way 69:43; 3 Peter Baksh 71:22

Lloyds Bank Cardiff Half Marathon, October 5

Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run, Glasgow, October 5
Stephen Mokoka of South Africa won the men’s half marathon which saw the withdrawal of Ethiopian long distance great Haile Gebrselassie in the early stages, while Kenya’s two-time world marathon champion Edna Kiplagat won the women’s race in an event record time. Chester Marathon, October 5
Romanian Marius Ionescu of Altrincham won in 2:21:25 while veteran Cathy Stibbs of Kent AC was a surprise women’s winner breaking three hours for the first time and running 27 minutes quicker than she ran in this year’s Virgin London Marathon.

Rock n Roll Marathon, Lisbon, October 5
Kenyan Samuel Ndungu won the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon in 2:08:17, while Visiline Jepkesho won the women’s race in 2:26:42.

QEOP Winter 10km Series, London Olympic Park, October 4
Lauren Deadman won the race outright by just three seconds in a time of 34:59 and she was first woman by 10 minutes.

Leeds, October 1
University of Leeds student Ellie Dooley set a British junior record of 7:13.5 in the mile walk.
Notre Dame Invitational, Notre Dame, October 3
Briton Charlotte Arter won the women’s 5km race in 16:09.3.
October 4
Daniel O’Boyle ran the fastest time of 15:14 at Netley Abbey.
Discounting performances which were involved being pulled by dogs, W65 Jane Davies again had the top age-graded performance with a 21:33 at Bushy Park scoring 96.98% on age-grading.
