Usain Bolt runs 9.88 for 100m win in Kingston
Usain Bolt recovered after a stumble at the start to win the Racers Grand Prix 100m in 9.88 on Saturday (June 11) in Kingston, Jamaica.
The six-time Olympic gold medallist clocked the second-quickest 100m in the world so far this season despite his poor start and a finish which saw him ease down on his approach to the line.
Bolt beat Nickel Ashmeade and Yohan Blake, who both ran 9.94, while Asafa Powell also went sub-10 seconds with 9.98 for fourth.
Only Jimmy Vicaut has gone quicker than Bolt's winning time so far this year, with the Frenchman having run 9.86 earlier this month for a time which equals the European record he shares with Francis Obikwelu.
In the women's 100m, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce returned to winning ways after injury struggles, clocking 11.09 to beat USA's Barbara Pierre.
Delano Williams ran 45.50 for the second-quickest 400m by a Briton this year, while Wayde van Niekerk beat LaShawn Merritt over 300m - 31.03 to 31.23.
Miguel Francis ran 19.88 to win the 200m as the women's race was won by Shaunae Miller in a 22.05 PB. Sharika Nelvis ran 12.61 to take the 100m hurdles, while David Oliver won the 110m hurdles in 13.09.
