Dan Cliffe, the eight times Cheshire cross-country champion, was at home over Epsom Downs and came home untroubled with a two-minute victory in 53;46, Martin Duff reports.
Kevin Quinn took the veteran honours in second, ahead of South of England M50 cross-country champion Steve Winder, who was timed at 57:48.
There was also an over-50 running well in the women’s section, as British masters marathon record holder, Sue McDonald, was a close second behind winner Katie Lysons.

Over a new course, South of England Masters M50 cross-country champion Steve Winder won outright on the climb up and around Boxhill, Martin Duff reports.
After starting at the now famous Denbies vineyard the route took the tunnel under the main A24 road and then meandered up and around the Surrey landmark. There was an ascent of 473 metres in total and a descent of 335 metres before the finish back at the vineyard.

Over this tough up and down course, under the auspices of the West Sussex Fun Run League, the Chichester Runner, who turned 45 just before Christmas won by a minute-and-a-half in 29:55.
