Defending champions Nafissatou Thiam and Damian Warner headline this weekend's Hypomeeting fields which feature 21 heptathletes with PBs over 6000 points and 23 decathletes who have surpassed 8000 points.
Belgium’s Olympic and world champion Thiam led one of the greatest ever heptathlon contests in Götzis last year with her meeting record of 7013 points.
Germany’s world silver medallist Carolin Schäfer was also second on that occasion with a 6836 PB and she returns to the competition.
USA’s Erica Bougard is back in action after her world-leading 6327-point performance at the Multistars event in Florence
but Britain’s Katarina Johnson-Thompson – who sits second in the rankings – has chosen to miss the event after winning at both the World Indoor Championships and Commonwealth Games.
World bronze medallist Anouk Vetter of Netherlands and Cuba’s world fourth-placer Yorgelis Rodriguez are also among the entries.
Canada’s world and Olympic medallist Warner will be looking to bounce back after the disappointment of failing to record a height in the pole vault while enjoying a big lead at the Commonwealth Games.
Grenada’s Lindon Victor claimed victory on the Gold Coast and the two will again face each other in Austria.
Estonia’s world indoor medallist Maicel Uibo leads the world rankings with his 8407-point PB recorded in Georgia, while other entries are Germany’s Rico Freimuth and Kai Kazmirek, Belgium’s Thomas Van der Plaetsen and Russia’s Ilya Shkurenyov.
