Steve Smythe takes a detailed look at the achievements of heptathlon great Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, from under-15 to senior performances

Jessica Ennis-Hill was born on January 28, 1986, in Sheffield and joined City of Sheffield AC in 1998. Shortly afterwards she began being coached by Toni Minichello who guided her all the way to Olympic medals in 2012 and 2016.

She married Andy Hill in July 2013 and gave birth to son Reggie in July 2014 and daughter Olivia in September 2017.

Ennis-Hill was awarded an MBE in 2011 and CBE in 2012 and then a damehood after she retired in 2016.

She was second in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards in 2012 to cyclist Bradley Wiggins.
