The Hurricane ISO 3 features ISOFIT that helps lock the foot down, while increased cushioning and lasting stability benefit your long run. All that’s left are the miles and an EVERUN continuous cushioning delivering more energy return to get you through more of them. The Brooks Adrenaline GTS16 is a good alternative option.
A good looking shoe that feels like it’s going to do as it says – provide energy return. You can’t fail but notice the flexibility, great news in what is essentially a stability shoe . Daily long distance runners step forward!
This is an interesting shoe in that it works off an 8mm heel to toe drop which can be difficult to get on with, but such is the responsive nature of the Everrun landing zone (updated for this mode), you definitely don’t notice it. So a shoe designed for overpronators offers the kind of ride neutral runners enjoy – good news for anyone fancying running a little quicker. Other interesting technologies include the Tri-Flex outsole which increases force dispersion over a greater surface area while also delivering optimal flexibility and traction. It means you’re working from a wider platform on impact, something our test team definitely noticed. Low ride they may be, but there was a safe feeling on impact thanks to that width. In fact, Saucony experts have increased contact with the road so you’ll work through a good toe off movement as you pick up the pace!
Saucony’s ISOFIT works well when it comes to encasing your foot in a comfortable, flexible upper. It’s a dynamic fit in that it allows your feet to move in the correct motion so now real complaints from our testers in that department. In fact, make a note the toe box is a little wider than many shoes out there, so these will certainly favor those with a wider foot.
Cushioning and stability are the name of the game with these shoe. It’s also a good way to get comfortable with that slightly lower to the ground heel to toe drop, which in turn means you’ll feel slightly faster but still enjoy the overpronator protection your stride requires.
How was the Saucony Hurrican ISO 3 for you? Any difference from the 2? Let us know, we’d love to report your findings.
