Lighter than the Fuelcell TC, so a true race-day performer. Feels fast and light as soon as you pull it on. The outsole looks interesting and provides great traction. Essentially a slimmed down version of the TC ready to race.
Fuelcell foam midsole in this shoe is probably the softest of the new generations of 'super-foam' - very soft, yet very 'springy' the shoe feels great as soon as you step in. That said, the narrow dimentions of the midsole, especially in the heel area can create a feeling of instability.
The carbon plate adds that all important 'snappy feel' to toe-off . It's not quite as noticeable as in some shoes, but theres a definate 'spring-like' feel and it only gets better the quicker you go.
A single layer, lightweight upper provides everything you need. It's slim fitting and hugs the foot. No issues with 'lockdown' it's secure and sock like.
The Dynaride outsole uses small lugs in the forefoot to increase traction and they work very well, in fact probably the best carbon plate shoe around for use in the wet or on courses where you may encounter surfaces in less than ideal condition. I found it great on park paths where there can be a little moss on the ground. The extra traction is noticeable and gives confidence, especially when cornering at speed.
A great shoe, but shows signs now of being one of the first to market to try and challenge the Nike Next%. Coming in at over £200 now makes the shoe expensive in the carbon plate market with many contenders undercutting that price point (and still selling very well). It perfoms very well, it feels lively and energetic and just wants to go fast, so there's nothing wrong with the shoe, hence the 9 out of 10 score. It's simple a case of price and if you want to stick with the brand or try a less expensive option.
