Our verdict
If you are seeking the more traditional feel of a racing shoe in a world filled with deep foam and carbon plates, then this is the shoe for you. The fit of a track spike and lower to the ground and almost aggressive toe-off make you feel fast from the word go.

First impressions
Light and fast, this is a track spike of the road. Once a marathon shoe, that world seems to have moved on now to super cushioning and carbon plates. This shoe keeps things simple, almost traditional in its low-profile design and close wrap around fit.
If you want an adidas shoe that is a little more forgiving, check out the Adi Boston or if you want something even faster, look to the super-fast carbon plated Adizero Pro.
Midsole
The brand's Boost material is combined with Lightstrike cushioning. Boost features in the heel to absorb heel strike and Lightstrike running through into the forefoot to keep weight down and offer a more direct, connected push-off.
Upper
Super lightweight mesh is all that is required here, it is very breathable as it is so light and thin. It does everything it needs to do.
Sole
Continental rubber is used in a lower volumn to keep the weight down whilst still allowing good levels of traction. Even in the wet the sole excels providing fantastic grip.
Conclusion
New technology meets old school design to create a race shoe for the traditionalist. If carbon plates and springy foam aren't for you then this is the answer.
