The Alpine Village Experience

This year, the Alpine Village is packed with immersive experiences to explore. Whether visitors are looking to learn, mingle with top athletes or simply connect with like-minded, the Alpine Village offers something for everyone.

The Scene is the main stage in the Alpine Village where visitors can experience live music performances, films and talks with Arc’teryx athletes such as the climbing legends Ines Papert, Will Gadd and Matilda Söderlund.

The ReBIRDTM Cube offers free gear repairs and services throughout the event as well as upcycling workshops led by Arc’teryx ambassador Nicole McLaughlin and brand partner Redeem Equipment.

At the Obsessive Design Footwear Studio visitors have the chance to touch, test, and try out Arc’teryx footwear, connect with the designers, Trail Running athletes such as Philipp Reiter, and experts behind the product to ask questions, and attend talks and product demos.

The Gear Library is stocked with the latest Arc’teryx products to support attendees during their time in the mountains. A selection of jackets, backpacks, harnesses and shoes are available to borrow for free – on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Bouldering Wall, in partnership with Climbing District, offers a boulder experience to challenge everyone, from beginners to experts, no matter the age. On Thursday, there will also be a late night session with Arc’teryx athletes and a film screening of Muga with Ashima Shiraishi.

Designed as an intimate setting to experience outdoor culture and stories through a creative lens, Club Café hosts a series of talks, conversations, and opportunities to connect with pro climbers such as Alex Luger and Luka Lindic.

Also not to miss out is the partner area of the Alpine Village. The Alpine Academy partners have a great selection of top gear free to test and offer workshops and other activities. Partner tents include C.A.M.P. , GORE-TEX, RECCO, SCARPA and YETI .

Arc’teryx – Norvan LD4 – £150.00

The latest version of the Norvan retains its midsole geometry, which gives the shoe a ‘fast-riding’ feel on the trails. The toe-rocker helps the foot push off and gives the shoe a unique ride, similar to that of a road racing model. There’s no carbon plate here, just a dual-density midsole that soaks up the impact and pushes the foot through the gait cycle.

The 4mm lugs are well spaced, and although not the most aggressive, they are very effective even in the mud, shedding mud easily and providing a confident footing. The upper is supportive and fits well, with laminated sections for protection and durability.

Despite its understated looks, the Norvan is a premium performer and confidence-inspiring shoe on rugged terrain.
